MESOPOTAMIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ohio Highway Patrol Warren post is investigating a fatal accident that left two dead in Mesopotamia township.
According to police, Bruce Harrington, 55, of Mogadore, Ohio, and Samantha Rafferty, 34, of Atwater, Ohio, were killed when the motorcycle they were on hit a deer early Sunday morning around 3:40 a.m.
They were driving on SR 534 north of Mesopotamia Commons when they hit the deer and were ejected from the motorcycle and into a guardrail.
According to police, both were pronounced dead at the scene and helmets were not in use by either rider.
