Republic Services claims trash pick up back on schedule

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Officials from Republic Services claim they're caught up with trash collection delayed by a Teamster's strike.

Replacement employees worked over the weekend picking up trash left by unionized employees who walked off the job last week in a contract dispute.

The union says it has filed unfair labor practice complaints with the National Labor Relations Board. Contract talks are scheduled to resume next week.

The company advises customers to place their trash and recycling at the curb at normal times this week. Customers with questions should call Republic Services at 1-800-437-1123.
