Warren Township homicide suspect appears in court

WARREN, Ohio - A man wanted for homicide in Warren Township, arrested by the Greensboro Police Department Friday night was in Warren court Friday.

Patrick L. Heltzezl, 20, of Warren, appeared in Warren Municipal Court for arraignment.  He is charged with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing 71-year-old Milton Grumbling multiple times in the heart and larceny of an automobile.

A missing persons report had been filed for Heltzel over his disappearance, who said that he had stolen his vehicle and allegedly said he would hurt someone.

Heltzel's mother contacted him, and he allegedly admitted to killing Grumbling.  The phone call was recorded by police.

Warren Township police contacted Greensboro police at 8 p.m. about Heltzel possibly being in Greensboro and he was apprehended by police 50 minutes later.

The officer spotted the stolen vehicle Heltzel was reported driving and pulled him over.

Heltzel was taken in without incident and was being held in Guilford County Jail as of Saturday morning.

Heltzel's bond was set at $2 million.  If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole.
