Cochran out as football coach in Girard, but in as athletic director

GIRARD, Ohio - The Girard football program has gained a new athletic director, but has lost their head football coach.

Nick Cochran was approved as the schools new athletic director at Wednesday night's board of education meeting, thus giving up the head football coaching job to assume his new role.

The policy in Girard is that an administrator is not permitted to be a head coach.

Cochran was 24-19 in four seasons and will be part of the process in selecting the Indians new head football coach.
