BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A second run movie theatre in Boardman is closing it's doors at the end of March.
Cinemark Vice President of Marketing and Communications, James Meredith confirmed on Thursday that the Movies Eight theatre in the Shops at Boardman Park will be going dark.
Meredith says that movie goers have been favoring the Cinemark-owned Tinseltown theatre in Boardman.
He says that Tinseltown has been offering sales on tickets and also offers movies in HD and 3D, which is not available at Movies Eight.
Movies Eight offers motion pictures at discounted ticket prices after the features have finished showing in first run movie houses.
21 News first learned of the planned closings from employees of Movies Eight.
A spokesperson for Handel Investments, which operates the Shops at Boardman Park, tells 21 news that they were informed earlier that the theatre is closing.
They say they are in negotiations for a new tenant, but will not reveal with whom those negotiations are being conducted.
