Junior at Cardinal Mooney playing soccer internationally

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Cardinal Mooney soccer player Julie Vasquez is overseas playing for the 17 and under U.S. regional team.

Vasquez, a junior and third from the left in the front row in the photo, scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 win over the Turkish national team in Istanbul.

The team traveled to Sochi, Russia and participated in the opening ceremonies of the Kuban Spring Tournament.

This tournament runs into next week, and team USA is one of 12 international teams.
