CHAMPION, Ohio - Students at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center experienced the effects of distracted driving first hand at the Act Out Loud rally hosted by the school.
During the rally, students witnessed a mock accident scene demonstrating the results of bad decision making while behind the wheel of a car.
Justin Habraken of TCTC hoped the students were impacted by the rally and said, "Hopefully what they saw today will be an eye-opener for them and show them that can happen to anyone. A lot of people think, 'Oh that can't happen to me,' but after they see it first hand I hope that they really got the message and it really can happen to them."
In addition to the mock accident, students used vision impairing goggles that illustrated the how being impaired affects driving and other motor skills.
