Hollywood Gaming at the Mahoning Valley Race Course will host two job fairs for potential employees.

The career fair will be held June 9 from noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Austintown Plaza located at 6000 Mahoning Avenue.  A second job fair will be held from noon until 8:00 p.m. on June 25 at Stambaugh Auditorium Auditorium.

Interested candidates will be able to learn about open positions, salary, benefits, hours, and opportunities for advancement.

Company officials say that people looking for a job must apply online.  Those interested can find a list of the 400 available jobs, and application information here.

People who don't have access to the internet will be able to access the site at a local library.

The thoroughbred race track and slots facility under construction at Route 46 and Interstate 80 will be seeking employees in a wide variety of job categories, including VLT operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance and facilities, parking, wardrobe, security and surveillance, and racing operations, as well as in administrative positions.

65 percent of the jobs will be full time, according to Penn National officials who say that entry level employees average $30,000 to $40,000 a year in combined wages and tips. The company also offers a benefit package which includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as tuition reimbursement.

Supervisory personnel will likely start working in July, while other employees will be brought on in August for training.

Since the venue is smoke-free, potential employees must pass a test to show that they are nicotine free.

Officials expect more than one thousand people to show up for the first job fair.  The goal is to have 90% of the employees from the valley.
