Federal authorities have unsealed an affidavit used in a case against a Hubbard man accused of coercing and enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity and producing child pornography.

A federal grand jury in Colorado handed up a four count indictment against 57-year-old Rande Isabella in May.

In February, federal investigators searched Isabella's Hubbard home at 241 Viola Avenue, looking for computers, phones, electronic messages and other evidence.

According to the affidavit, a Colorado woman contacted a special agent saying she found evidence on on a mobile phone that a 57-year old man from Ohio intended to travel to Durango, Colorado to pursue a relationship with the woman's 14-year-old daughter.

Authorities say they found nude and partially nude pictures of the teenager on the phone, as well as sexually explicit messages sent from a phone that was later traced to Isabella.

Investigators also found a message from Isabella offering to send the girl a pre-paid cell phone, with instructions that no one must know about the phone.

A forensic analysis of a phone confiscated in the investigation revealed 56 images described as child pornography, including at least three different children, including the Colorado teen. Some of the images depicted minors engaged in sex acts.

In December of last year, an undercover agent from the Department of Homeland Security posing as a fifteen year old girl “friended” Isabella on Facebook.

The affidavit alleges that during an online “relationship” that lasted more than a month, Isabella made sexually charged suggestions that included discussions about sexual acts. The undercover agent says that Isabella offered to send the agent a pre-paid phone.

According to the affidavit, on February 13, Isabella transmitted a photo of an exposed male organ, telling the agent it was his own.

Isabella was arrested on June 30 and he pleaded not guilty in federal court three days later.

The suspect is expected to return to court on November 20 to prepare for a December trial or change his plea.

If convicted, Isabella could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

According to Bureau of Prison records, Isabella is listed as an inmate of the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution in Littleton, Colorado.
