Dog lovers unite in fundraiser

Three agencies with a shared love for dogs joined together to help their furry friends.

Legacy Dog Rescue of Ohio, Friends of Fido, and Youngstown Dogs Surviving the Streets held a large Chinese auction at Davidson's on Canfield Road.

With the money, the groups provide food, shelter, veterinary needs, and socialization that dogs need in order to be good pets.

“These organizations, we are all after the same goal. We all love dogs, they're our heart. We are here to help them. We help each other out,” said Shirley Persinger, Youngstown Dogs Surviving the Streets.

All of the non-profit organizations appreciated the businesses that donated baskets, and the people who took part in the Chinese auction.
