Father of East High bus accident victim talks about his loss

At just 14-years-old, Faith McCullough had talent beyond her years, she enjoyed singing. A young life that ended tragically too soon after the East High School freshman was hit and killed by a school bus.

"I just got to deal with it day by day you know. I'm just a heartbroken dad. It's horrible," said Max McCullough, Faith's father.

Max McCullough can't fight back the tears and questions why the school bus wasn't able to stop. McCullough said his daughter was headed home, and his son Harley had just run down the hill by East High, followed by his daughter Faith.

That's when something went terribly wrong.

Her father wants to know whether this was just a tragic accident or whether other factors were involved.

"She had run down the hill. In a school zone. Like the kids always do and she hit the sidewalk. Not hit it, hit it. But jumped on the sidewalk. Got light headed, probably because she exerted herself," said McCullough.

That's when Faith stumbled and fell, according to her father, into the path of the oncoming bus. Now, her father wants proof from the investigation that there were no other factors that led to the crash and that this was nothing more than a tragic freak accident.

An accident he said took the life of his beautiful girl, "I just want them to remember what an angel she was."

A preliminary report by the Mahoning County Deputy Coroner, Dr. Joseph Ohr said McCullough died of blunt force injuries to the head.

Faith's family has graciously consented to donate tissue donation of their daughter's remains.
