Police are searching for suspects who made counterfeit purchases at Walmart stores in the Valley. Various suspects are involved and targeted the Austintown, Boardman and Liberty Walmart stores.

According to Austintown Police, on Wednesday three people walked into the Walmart on Mahoning Avenue.

Two women made returns for cash at customer service with valid receipts. It was later determined those items were purchased at the Liberty Walmart earlier that day with counterfeit $100 bills.

The two women and a man then went to separate areas of the store and purchased more goods using six counterfeit $100 bills.

They then went to the Boardman Walmart where they made returns for the Austintown Walmart merchandise for cash.

One of the women attempted to make a purchase with counterfeit bills at the Boardman location, but the employee noticed the bills were fake.

The employee said a price check was needed and walked in the back to call for help. The woman walked away leaving behind the two fake $100  bills.

The man however was able to make a purchase in the Boardman Walmart with another employee using two hundred dollars in counterfeit money. Police believe there are more suspects involved. They are shown in the photos.
