Christa Lamendola is the Emmy-award winning morning anchor of WFMJ Today.

The Ohio University graduate joined the 21 News team in 2015 as the station's weekend anchor before moving to weekday mornings in 2016.

Lamendola has been formally recognized for her breaking news reporting, feature reporting and anchoring, receiving a total of five Emmy-nominations from the Greater Lakes NATAS chapter. 

The Pittsburgh native was honored with her first official Emmy award in 2019 for anchoring and co-producing WFMJ Today during critical coverage of the idling of GM Lordstown. 

Lamendola previously worked as a reporter at WLNS-TV in Michigan and spent years working in radio at CBS radio in Pittsburgh. (The radio station has since merged with Entercom.)

In college, Lamendola studied broadcast journalism and graduated with a B.S. from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with a minor in meteorology.

She received the University's WOUB News Director award along with an honorable mention at the Ohio Valley NATAS awards. 

She also spent her summers interning at WATE-TV in Knoxville, TN, and KDKA-TV in her hometown of Pittsburgh. 

Outside of work, the fitness enthusiast is always on the go!

She is an avid hiker, long-distance runner and weight-lifter.

She loves home decor, but will never pay full price!

You can find her at the thrift shop looking for an item with character or a piece of furniture that needs some TLC.
