Muscle Connection H.S. Football Preview: Campbell Red Devils

First-year head coach Butch Jennings is full of energy and wants to bring that to his team.

"I'm excited to be here and am committed to this community and boys," said Jennings, who sat out last season to watch his son finish his high school career at Boardman.

Offensively, the Red Devils return six starters and have some talent.

 "Rayshawn Hicks is going to be our tight end and has incredible hands," said Jennings. Adding, James Shaffer got a lot of playing time last year and called him a "rising" sophomore.

Defensively, the Red Devils are changing to a 3-4 and are counting on Malachi Barnard and Shaffer to lead the way. 

"With those two guys, we're really excited about what we're going to do back there," said Jennings.

The Red Devils haven't had a winning season since 2012, finishing 6-4.

They kick off their season August 24 against Valley Christian.
