A local defense attorney was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on a domestic violence charge after being arrested by Poland Village Police Officers.
Village Police Chief Russell Beatty tells 21 News his officers were called at around 4 pm Wednesday to the Cortland Street home of attorney Rhys Cartwright-Jones.
Beatty says a 34-year-old woman who lives at the home told officers that she was struck by the 40-year-old Cartwright-Jones. Police say there were minor visible marks on the woman.
Cartwright-Jones was placed under arrest and taken to the county jail.
Beatty says a domestic violence charge against Cartwright-Jones is being filed in Struthers Municipal Court.
Cartwright-Jones has represented defendants in several notable criminal cases, including Kevin Agee who was convicted of murdering 75-year-old Thomas Repchic and wounding his wife Jacqueline after they left Saint Dominic's Church in 2010.
