Brest steps down as Hickory football coach

Hickory football coach Bill Brest has tendered his resignation after nine seasons with the Hornets.

He was 83-28, which is the highest winning percentage in school history. 

Under Brest, the Hornets had eight straight playoff appearances, seven consecutive district final appearances, and six consecutive district championships.

In his resignation letter, Brest looks forward to what the future brings.
