The official photographs of the last Chevy Cruze being made in Lordstown don't include any flags or the signs put on the car by the workers who made it.
General Motors on Wednesday posted six pictures of what the company says is the last Cruze to roll across the assembly line.
The white 2019 model has been the subject of countless pictures taken by UAW workers as the car moved along the assembly process, starting last week when it came through the fabrication plant bearing a cardboard sign with the hand-printed words “The Last Cruze”.
Since then social media has been filled with pictures of the car, many times with workers posing next to it.
Some pictures posted by workers on Facebook and Twitter show the car with an American Flag or a UAW flag attached.
In many of the postings, workers are holding signs calling on GM to bring a new product to replace the small car in Lordstown.
Both GM and the UAW have said the future of the plant will be determined through upcoming contract negotiations between the two.
The union is suing GM in federal court claiming the automaker violated the labor agreement by closing Lordstown and three other plants.
