Whitehouse Fruit Farm is now offering a $2,000 reward for the cigar store Indian statue stolen from the entrance to their store.
A post on the farm's Facebook page says the reward is available to anyone providing information that leads to the safe return of the wooden statue and an arrest of whoever took it.
The antique statue, which stood in front of the farm's store for twenty years, disappeared in February.
The depiction of a Native American stands on a base that bears the words “Old Honesty 5¢ Cigar”.
According to the PBS program “Antiques Roadshow”, cigar store Indians were popular symbols of the 19th and early 20th-century tobacco trade.
Whitehouse Fruit Farm says the family considers the statue special memorabilia.
They are asking anyone with information about the statue to call the Goshen Police Department at 330-332-0547.
