Boardman apartment fire displaces nearly a dozen residents

Fire crews were called out to an apartment fire on the 8400 block of Colwyn Court on Saturday morning.

According to the Boardman Fire Department, the first calls for the fire came in around 9:50 am.

The apartment complex has multiple units, and fire crews had to use a ladder to rescue residents from the second floor.

According to fire officials, two civilians were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say nearly a dozen residents are displaced and the Red Cross was notified.
