1 suspect in Ravenna carjacking, abduction found, another still missing
Deputies in Portage County are trying to find a couple who carjacked an elderly woman, then shoved her out of her SUV after robbing her.
One of the suspects accused of carjacking and abducting an elderly woman has been found.
Portage County Jail officials confirmed to 21 News that 28-year-old Margaret Ann Hayes has been booked into the jail.
Officials are still searching for 32-year-old Christopher Michael Hastings.
Larry Kuerber, 73, told deputies he was unloading his golf cart from a trailer at the Midway Drive-In on Route 59 in Ravenna Monday night when a man asked him for a ride to Kent.
After Kuerber refused, he said the suspects got into his SUV and drove away while Kuerber's 72-year-old wife, Donna, was still inside.
A passer-by found the wife along a road in Franklin Township about three hours later. She told deputies that the couple took her purse and cell phone, then pushed her out of the SUV.
Mrs. Kuerber was taken to University Hospital in Portage as a precaution.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hastings to contact them at 330-296-5100.
