Victim of fatal stabbing at Youngstown apartment identified

Youngstown police say a woman in her thirties is a suspect in a fatal stabbing on the city's East Side early Tuesday.

Officers were called to the ESA apartments at 640 Kendis Circle just before 3 am where they found a man in his 30s dead on the bathroom floor.

The Mahoning County Coroner identified the man as 36-year-old Eugene Jones Jr. on Wednesday.

Early reports indicate that the suspect told police that she stabbed Jones after he allegedly struck her.
