Schedule for Youngstown Pride Festival Saturday
The 20th Youngstown Pride Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
The two-part event starts with a parade that lines up at Tyler History Center parking lot and travels east on Federal Street to Central Square before dispersing at Market Street.
The Celebration itself will take place on the North Phelps Street Party Block, between Commerce Street and Federal Street in front of Suzie's Dog's & Drafts and Rhine Haus Bier Hall.
Organizers say that costumes and dress must be appropriate and admission to the event is free, but donations are requested, and anyone who donates will receive a Pride sticker.
The event was first organized in Youngstown in 2009 to help create a sense of support and self-confidence in the community.
