FEMA is operating a Disaster Recovery Center for the next four days in Boardman.
Mahoning County was added to what officials ruled as a "federal disaster" after storms ripped through Ohio back in May.
Now the Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Mahoning County for those hit explicitly by storm damage between May 27th and 29th.
The center will operate for four days inside the Boardman Township Administration Building at 8299 Market Street.
The center will be a place residents can access the internet. The center will also have FEMA representatives available and representatives with information on low-interest loans. The representatives will be able to walk residents and business owners through the application process if needed. They can also help with any follow-up after an application has been submitted.
”I encourage anybody, any Mahoning County resident, even if they’re not in Boardman, Canfield, or Poland. If you sustained damage from the May 28th flooding, please apply because there may be pockets of damage in the county we just don’t know about," said Mahoning County EMA Director Dennis O'Hara.
O'Hara said homeowners, renters, and businesses throughout the county are all eligible to apply for assistance, although they may not all qualify.
O'Hara said that those most likely to receive federal assistance are those hardest hit.
To apply, you'll need to provide a social security card, insurance information, and while photographs are helpful, they are not required.
The hours for the center are:
July 12 - 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
July 13 - 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
July 15 - 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
July 16 - 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
