Unplug and Unwind: Tiny cabins offer a 'Getaway' outside of Lisbon

Down a gravel road just outside of Lisbon, there is a getaway.

It has no Wi-Fi, television, and almost no cell phone service.

While the getaway lacks technology, it has a window with a view and as Getaway Beaver Creek puts it, "There's everything you need and nothing you don't."

"I think we are living in a very connected world right now, technology people are tethered to, and Getaway just gives people a chance to get away from all that," said Getaway Regional Director Nick Authenrieth.

The cabin features an incredible window and makes you feel as if you're in the trees.

And while the view from the window is breathtaking, the tiny cabins feature a kitchen with the basic necessities.

Snacks and simple meals are available for purchase, or you can get creative and make your own.

The tiny cabin is outfitted with a hot shower and running water and supplies to build a fire.

"If you want to build your own campfire and have a cup of coffee, you can do that. If you want to make eggs and hang out in your cabin and read a book, you can do that too," said Getaway Beaver Creek General Manager Michelle Krut.

Each tiny cabin has its own cell phone lockbox, making it easier to log off and escape.

The company has more than half a dozen outpost throughout the states.

They're dog-friendly and sleep two to four people.

Each location is not far from a major city with this outpost in between the Valley, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland.

The whole experience can be done without seeing or talking to another person.

Everything can be booked online, and you receive a text with the lock code for your cabin the morning of your getaway.

Its a getaway just far enough from home, letting you unplug and live in the moment.
