The West Middlesex high school soccer team will be co-ed this season.

The girl's varsity team failed to get enough players by their district's August 15th deadline so members will join the boy's squad.

At a school board meeting Monday night, parents and soccer players showed up to protest the move, saying they now have enough girls to field a team this season.
But the school superintendent says it's too late since other schools have already set their schedules.

The superintendent says that girl soccer players will also have a chance to play intramural games to maintain their skills.
The parents still hold out hope the board will change their minds and allow the girls to have their own team.
