ASAP Rally for Recovery this Saturday at Eastwood Field

The 7th annual Rally for Recovery will take place this Saturday at Eastwood Field.

The annual rally held by The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) will kick off Saturday at 10 a.m. and run through 2 p.m.  A one-mile recovery walk is happening at 1 p.m.

The Rally for Recovery event features rock and recovery music as well as educational materials about recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, an 'addiction memorial' and free lunch.

ASAP's project director Lauren Thorp says families are encouraged to come out to Eastwood Field to celebrate National Recovery Month.  Thorp says sponsors and the support of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board help make this a free event.

Registration for the walk begins at 10 a.m.  Awards will be presented to the largest family, agency, and recovery house walk teams.
