Youngstown State University enrollment is down for the first time in three years.
Enrollment at the university is down 4.3% according to the YSU trustees report.
A YSU spokesperson attributes the drop to a decrease in high school enrollment across northeast Ohio as well as recent large graduation classes at YSU.
The University tells 21 News that the incoming freshman class has the highest GPA in the university's history with a 3.4 average.
The total headcount sits at 12,155.
Eighty-two percent of those students are Ohio residents.
Students ages range between 17 and 67-years-old.
