Cortland officer's 'condition is improving' after crash

A Cortland Police Officer's condition is improving after he suffered a heart attack while on duty.
Officer Nicholas Mancini crashed his vehicle while suffering a heart attack on Saturday evening.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. on State Route 5 near the McDonald's.
Police say the officer was the only one involved in the crash.
Bazetta police, Trumbull County Sheriffs Office, Warren police, Howland police, and Mercy Health police all assisted Cortland PD at the scene.
Police said several civilians stopped to assist the officer and also rendered medical care, including CPR until the fire department arrived.
Police say they want to thank the community for their support.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
