A Troopers good deed to save some geese in Boardman is going viral.

The post shared on Boardman Talk, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Facebook pages had more than 1,000 shares as of Tuesday afternoon.

Trooper Ben Miller of the Canfield Post says he was driving along US-224 near IHOP when he saw them in the road.

There's a field by Gabe's in that area, and Miller says he usually sees small groups of them. But this time, he saw a group of ten to 12.

He felt the need to stop to prevent a car from hitting the geese as well as an accident.

When asked about the positive response online, he says it's good to see law enforcement in a positive light.

Miller has been with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for two years.
