A judge ruled Tuesday Morris Perry, Sr., the 76-year-old Youngstown man facing charges for the rape of a child, has been found competent to stand trial.

Additionally, Judge Sweeney denied a reduction request of his $50,000 bond.

Perry, Sr. was charged with rape in October of 2018, after being accused of raping a child in July.

If convicted of the rape charge, Perry could face life in prison.
