Warren police have arrested a man accused of posting threats to law enforcement just days after two police officers were cleared of wrongdoing in the shooting death of a man outside a Niles apartment.

Edward Killingworth Jr., 26, of Maple Street, was arrested Tuesday outside the Warren Police Department after his probation officer had summoned him there.

According to a police report, a Warren Police Detective learned earlier that day that Killingworth had allegedly posted two threats directed toward police on the “Warren's Real Breaking News” Facebook page.

Killingworth allegedly posted the message “I think a cop needs killed around here again” and “nope, more cops need shot dead. They kill us, we kill them simple.”

The report says Killingworth also mentioned killing other people on the page as well.

A 21 News viewer forwarded screenshots of the Facebook conversation which were comments in response to findings by the Trumbull County Prosecutor clearing two Niles Police officers in the January shooting death of Edward Burroughs.

Killingworth was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment.

During Wednesday's video arraignment in Warren Municipal Court, Killingworth pleaded not guilty and said he planned to represent himself at his next hearing.

The judge ordered that Killingworth remain jailed without bond due to a possible threat to the public.

According to court records, the judge wants Killingworth to undergo a risk assessment.
