Three players connected with Youngstown Phantoms’ ties have been recognized in the 2019-2020 NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary List.

Phantoms’ Forward Ben Schoen, Phantoms’ Forward Trevor Kuntar and Phantoms’ Goalie Colin Purcell have been named to the Central Scouting Preliminary list for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Phantoms’ Forward Ben Schoen returns for his second year. Coach Brad Patterson sheds some light on him, “He has exceptional vision and IQ for the game which makes him a catalyst in all areas.  Ben can play at any speed and makes everyone around him better.”

Phantoms’ Forward Trevor Kuntar returns for his third year in Youngstown.  “A power forward with the ability to score in a multitude of ways. Will be a leader through his play and overall experience” remarks Coach Brad Patterson.

Phantoms’ Goalie Colin Purcell was an affiliate goalie last year.  “Purcell has shown the ability to excel at this level dating back to last season.  He is a competitive/athletic goaltender that gets better every day.  He has obviously had a great start to the year, and we look forward to seeing him progress,” states Coach Brad Patterson.

The United States Hockey League has 86 players with ties to the league in the Central Scouting Preliminary List.
