Neighbors say Mecca crash sounded like an explosion
The sound from a traffic accident in Trumbull County was so loud, a neighbor told 911 they thought they had heard an explosion.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called out early Wednesday just after midnight at Love Warner Road and Route 88 just north of Cortland where a transit van collided with a tractor-trailer.
When first responders arrived they found a man on the ground. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for treatment of a possible broken arm.
Troopers, who have not released the victim's name, are still gathering details about the accident.
