East Liverpool City Schools Superintendent Jonathan Ludwig sent out a letter Friday after an inspection found bed bugs at the Junior-Senior High School.

According to the letter, East Liverpool Schools had a pest inspection Thursday that came back clean.

While the school was found to be without bugs Thursday, two bugs were found Friday.

The letter states that all rooms in each of the district's buildings will be professionally treated over the weekend.

In addition to the schools, each district school bus will be cleaned and treated.

Superintendent Ludwig says the incidents at the Junior-Senior High School were isolated and do not constitute an infestation.

The district says it is going above and beyond CDC and EPA requirements to fix the issue.

According to the letter, East Liverpool City Schools will be closed Monday to give professionals time to treat the schools and buses.
