Local agencies receive grants to address opioid addiction
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced new grants to address the opioid epidemic Monday.
The new grants total $1.3 million and have been sent to 30 agencies across the state.
Three local agencies in the Valley are receiving grants from the program.
According to the Ohio AG website, the East Liverpool Police Department will receive $43,750.
Along with East Liverpool, the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department will receive $171,875, and the Newton Falls Police Department will receive $43,750.
The current grants combine with past grants from the program that began in 2017.
The grants will be used to connect survivors of opioid addiction to treatment and recovery help.
