A family-owned staple in the local bowling community is set to be auctioned online.
Bell Wick Bowl, which frequently hosted Professional Bowling Association events, is the only bowling alley in the Hubbard area.
The bowling alley, located on West Liberty Street, was opened in 1942 by Frank Zitnik, Sr.
After Zitnik's passing, his son Francis Zitnik took over the family business and is the current owner.
Francis Zitnik decided to put the business up for auction due to retirement and other health-related issues.
The over 26,000-square-foot building is equipped with 32 lanes, an electronic scoring system, two sets of restrooms, a lounge, kitchen and banquet area. Most of the equipment will be included in the auction.
The owner hopes the Bell Wick Bowl building will remain a bowling alley.
There are two previews to view the property scheduled for Nov. 9 and Nov. 25 from noon to 1 p.m.
The auction will be online only, and the opening bid starts at $37,500.
