Operators of the Eastwood Mall expect to have a new retailer doing business in the space left vacant when Sears shut down operations there.
Cafaro Company spokesman Joe Bell confirmed to 21 News that they plan to announce the name of that new tenant in January.
Bell could not name the business because the deal is still being finalized.
The closing of the Sears store, one of the mall’s anchor stores, was announced in October of last year when parent company Sears Holdings filed for bankruptcy.
At the time, Sears Holdings revealed that it would close 142 Sears and Kmart stores.
Since then, more stores have been closed, leaving the Valley with no remaining Sears or Kmart stores.
