The holiday season is on its way, and Home Instead Senior Care is offering communities a chance to spread joy to local seniors.

According to the release, the program began in 2003 and has mobilized more than 60,000 volunteers and approximately 2.1 million gifts to seniors throughout the country.

"The Be a Santa to a Senior program is all about including seniors in the joy of the holiday season," said Carol Hitchcock, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care offices serving the Mahoning Valley. "A simple gift shows them they are a loved and vital member of our community."
