Pecan Pie Brownies

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups light corn syrup

7 eggs (divided)

1/2 stick butter

2 tsp. vanilla

1 box brownie mix

1/4 cup water

3/4 cup oil

2 cups chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350°.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, 4 eggs, butter and vanilla. Stir often.

In the meantime, in a large bowl, combine brownie mix, remaining 3 eggs, water and oil. Transfer mixture to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake for about 15 minutes.

While brownies are baking, continue stirring pecan filling until thick enough to coat your spoon. Stir in pecans and cook about 2 to 3 more minutes. Remove brownies from oven and top with pecan filling. Return to oven and bake about 25 minutes.
