Boardman police have released the report regarding Thursday's murder investigation.

According to the report, officers responded to a home on the 5500 block of West Boulevard at 12:58 a.m. Thursday.

Dispatchers advised the officers going to that location that a suspect vehicle could be a black sedan.

Officers say they did not see a black sedan on the way to the home.

According to the report, the officers pulled into the driveway and saw no vehicle tracks or footprints in the fresh snowfall.

Police say 19-year-old Emanuel Boyd was waving to the officers at the front door of the home. The two officers made their way to the home and again did not see any footprints coming to or from the north side of the home.

Reports say Boyd was asked where the incident happened, and he replied "up the street" and pointed north.

Officers report that Boyd led them into the home and observed blood droplets in the foyer area before seeing the victim, 18-year-old Kane Wiesensee, lying on his back with a gunshot wound and being held by a female witness.

According to the report, Wiesensee was gasping for air and had a blank stare, causing one officer to start CPR on him.

Police say they again asked Boyd where the shooting happened, and Boyd allegedly replied: "up the street." Boyd then told officers that a black vehicle pulled up with its lights off as he and Wiesensee were in the street.

According to the report, officers asked where the footprints leading back to the home where, and Boyd pointed to one set leading from the street to the front door.

Officers say they did not see any blood in the snow and told Boyd that there was only one set of footprints to which Boyd said they might have walked up to the home's south entrance.

Reports say the south entrance had only one set of footprints walking to and from the residence. The report states that those footprints were the same as those on the north side of the home.

According to the report, the shoe prints had a small circle on the ball of the foot and a larger widening circle on the front of the foot.

Paramedics arrived on the scene, and the female witness went outside to speak with officers. During that time, the female witness said she was sleeping in the living room of the home when she heard a loud bang and awoke to find Wiesensee stumbling into the room and saying he was shot in the chest.

Reports say one officer was told to stay with Boyd and not to let him wash his hands. Boyd was then taken outside and down the driveway toward a police cruiser.

While Boyd was being escorted outside, officers noticed the same tread pattern on Boyd's shoes as the ones that made the footprints to and from the home.

Officers say they began to photograph the scene, including some of Boyd as he was being escorted to the cruiser.

Reports say further investigation found that footprints matching Boyd's appeared to walk to the street and back to the home.

Boyd and the female witness were both placed in police cruisers while Wiesensee was transported to St. Elizabeth in Youngstown.

Reports say officers were informed a short time later that Wiesensee had passed away at the hospital.

While speaking with the female witness, police say she told them that "Manny shot Kane."

According to the report, the female told police that she had been sitting on Wiesensee's lap during the incident and that Boyd was playing with the gun and believed that the shooting was an accident. She then told police that Boyd started freaking out, and Wiesensee started screaming. She also described feeling heat from the shot.

Boyd appeared for his arraignment on a murder charge Thursday and will appear in court again Tuesday.
