STRUTHERS, Ohio - One of the first events to kick off the summer in Struthers has been canceled. 

Organizers for the COSP Festival at St. Nicholas Church have decided to cancel the event set for June 17 over coronavirus concerns.

Dan McCall, captain of the festival committee, said not knowing if there can be congregations of groups led to the decision as well as they do not want to put anyone's health in jeopardy.

McCall adds this was a tough decision because it's one of the first events of the summer where you can bring the entire community together, a chance for people to see old friends and colleagues. 

As far as next year, the festival is planned for June 16.
