Champion police say they confiscated several knives as evidence after an argument between a couple turned violent.

Devlin Riggs, 36, and his 37-year-old wife Angelina were booked into the Trumbull County Jail early Thursday on charges of domestic violence.

Dispatchers sent police to the couple’s Folsom Street apartment at around 2:30 am after receiving a call from a man claiming that his wife sliced him with a hunting knife.

When officers arrived, they found that the wife had received a cut on her leg.

Three children at home at the time were not injured.

After being treated for wounds described by police as minor, both were taken to jail to await arraignment in Warren Municipal Court.
