Beatitude House Ursuline Sisters Scholars announced three new scholarship recipients Wednesday.

The scholarships were presented to local students and were each for $1,000.

Tymira Stenson received the Beeghly Fund for Scholars and studies social work student at Ursuline College.

The Boardman Rotary Fund for Scholars gave a scholarship to Ashlee Macormac, who is pursuing Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology at Kent State Ashtabula.

The Kennedy Fund for Scholars gave $1,000 to Nasheema Wade-Kennedy who studies nursing at Eastern Gateway.

"With the help of very generous supporters, Beatitude House is so excited to provide three much-needed and well-deserved scholarships for next semester," said Emily Moran, Ursuline Sister Scholars Program Director.

The Ursuline Sisters Scholars Program of Beatitude House currently serves 39 students and aims to break the cycle of poverty through post-secondary education.
