Trump Tour Bus stops in Mahoning Valley

Before the first presidential debate in Cleveland on Tuesday, the campaign trail is heating up.

A crowd of more than 150 people waited for the Trump bus to roll into the Mahoning Valley Saturday.

Shortly before noon, as the bus pulled into the parking lot of the Mahoning County Republican Party Headquarters in Boardman,  people chanted "Trump, Trump, Trump" and "Four More Years."

The stop is just one of many as the Trump Tour Bus makes campaign stops in Ohio to encourage people to vote for President Donald Trump.

"He's fighting for their jobs, he's fighting to protect our energy sector, and when you look at what Joe Biden is talking about, this is the guy who supported NAFTA, sent our jobs overseas, President Trump has a strong record of fighting China, Fighting for American jobs," said Marc Lotter, the Director of Strategic Communications for the Trump campaign.

On the bus, members of coalitions included Catholics for Trump, Women for Trump, and Black Voices for Trump.

"President Trump has an incredible record of achievement for the black community. The democratic party has let the black community down for generations of policies that have failed us, economic policies that have failed us, educational policies that failed us. This president has done more in 47 months than Joe Biden has done in 47 years. The president is a champion for the black community, and the record of results indicate that, and that's why more black Americans are coming over to support President Trump for the first time, and for the second time," said Parris Dennard, Communications Advisor for Black Media Affairs for the RNC.

Dennard and others here cited President Trump's support for permanent funding for Historic Black Colleges, low unemployment for blacks before the pandemic, the First Step Act, the largest reform of the criminal justice system in years, which has given many blacks a second chance for a life outside of prison and the Platinum Plan the president rolled out Friday.

The Trump Campaign emphasized the importance to elect Christina Hagan and other republicans who support President Trump, who works every day on behalf of Americans.

Christina Hagan, a candidate for the 13th congressional district which Congressman Tim Ryan currently upholds, said, "I can bring jobs back to this economy. I can fight for and advocate with and alongside our president for an America First agenda."

The tour is making stops all across the battleground state, Ohio.
