Mercy Health Youngstown names new COO, CFO

Mercy Health Youngstown has selected two new executives, one new to the Valley and one promoted from within, beginning their new positions on Monday, Oct. 26.

Martin Tursky has been hired as the Market Chief Operating Officer for Mercy Health – Youngstown, and Michelle Crawford has been promoted to Market Chief Financial Officer - Youngstown.

 

 

Tursky is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point before starting his career as a strategic leader in the health care industry. He began his career in the health industry at Aultman Hospital in Canton in 1998. Tursky served in a variety of leadership roles at Aultman, including Vice President of the Heart Center and Support Services as well as Chief Information Officer. He also served as Chief Executive Officer at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky and Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.

Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Health Care in Central Michigan.

According to Mercy Health, in his new role as the Market Chief Operating Officer at Mercy Health Youngstown, Tursky will work closely with the Youngstown market leadership team in further growing the ministry’s impact within the Mahoning Valley as well as providing operational oversight and management.

Additionally, the health system announces Crawford's promotion to Market Chief Financial Officer for the Youngstown market.

 

 

Crawford has served the Youngstown ministry for 23 years, most recently as the CFO for Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. Before joining Mercy Health, she served as a senior auditor at Ernst and Young.

According to Mercy Health, Crawford will serve as the chief steward of the Youngstown market’s financial assets, including physical plant, construction, real estate, and revenue cycle in her new role.
