Ohio BMV warns of text message scam

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles took to social media this week to warn Ohio drivers of a text message scam involving REAL ID.

In a Facebook post, the BMV said it does not send text messages to gather personal information and any text doing so is fraudulent.

Anyone who receives the text message asking for up-to-date mailing information is asked to not respond.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact the Ohio BMV at 1-844-644-6268.
