Former Youngstown State defensive end Derek Rivers has agreed to a contract with the Houston Texans. Reportedly is for one year and is worth 1.3 million dollars. Rivers' agent Michael Perrett made the announcement.
He was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 2017 draft and played in only six games in 2018.
He was released in 2020 and joined the Rams.
Canfield graduate Frank Ross is the Texans special teams coordinator and Sean Baker is the assistant special teams coach.
