An incredible run by the New Castle Boy's Basketball team ended in the 4A Quarterfinals Friday night.
The Hurricanes hosted Cathedral Prep, the top team out of 5A's District 10.
The Ramblers took advantage of their size, crashing the boards and playing stingy defense, holding the high-octane Canes' offense to 20 first-half points.
Despite a masterful display of defense, it wasn't enough to hold New Castle down in the second half, as Prep found themselves trailing 44-37, in the game's final 1:30.
Down 44-42, Prep's Liam Galla knocked down a mid-range jumper to force overtime, a bucket that marked the turning point as the Ramblers never looked back in 52-50 win.
Khali Horton led Cathedral Prep with 16, Galla poured in 14.
For the Hurricanes, Sheldon Cox posted 16, and Michael Wells finished with 13.
New Castle caps off the season at a mark 21-3.
(17-7)Cathedral Prep moves on to play Lower Dauphin in Monday's semifinal.
