New medical facility plans to fill a void in Austintown

The newest facility in Austintown is the newest part of the Steward Medical Group family. 

The facility is just one of many that are setting up a new trend of how they bring different specialty care to their patients.

It's a first for the Austintown community, a medical facility set to offer next-level care for residents.

"The facilities that we previously had held mostly primary care physicians, along with imaging and urgent care which are important, but Austintown has been the devoid of specialist care forever," says Dr. James Shina, Regional Vice President of the Steward Medical Group.

The facility, located on Route 46, offers a number of services including Urology, General Surgery, and Gastroenterology. The facility, which is one of three in the area, is something the Steward Medical Group sees as a one-stop-shop for members of the community.

"We are in a situation where a patient could literally come to someone like Dr. Shina, and on the same day run down the street to a cardiologist or gastroenterologist. It's kind of a one-stop-shop, and that's really the biggest advantage," says Dr. Michael Burley, a Cardiologist with the Steward Medical Group. 

Steward health also has a primary health center, located next door on Route 46, and an urgent care and imaging lab located on Ohltown Road.
