YSU pre-veterinary students spent part of their Saturday getting some valuable hands-on experience caring for animals.
The Majorie Hartman Pet clinic lets students work alongside veterinarians.
It also gave the community a cost-effective way to get care for their pets.
They offer a variety of services from vaccinations to nail care at the clinic.
Tina Costarella a veterinarian and YSU teacher said, "THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS CAN BRING THEIR PETS IN FOR LOW-COST VACCINATIONS AND A FREE WELLNESS EXAM. IT HELPS THE AREA PATIENTS AS WELL AST THE DOGS AND CATS AND TEACH THE STUDENTS WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW TO BE A VET."
Buster's Brigade, a local non-profit, helped partner to put on the clinic.
YSU hopes to sponsor the student vet clinic twice a year.
